We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.
Anais Nin
Don’t think: Look!
Wittgenstein
Your concept or perception of reality is not reality. When you are caught in your perceptions and ideas, you lose reality.
Thich Nhat Hanh
We swim in a neverending sea of images. Each of those images is not just an image, they also have a message – what we should buy, who we should be, what we should aspire to, what is of value and what is not. What our story should be, or what it is not. These messages become a screen between us/our minds and the world around us.
Stories. We also swim in an endless sea of our own stories, inherited from our families, our cultures, our lives and also from those endless images that surround us. Our stories are also a filter between us and the world around us.
Do we ever see the world just as it is? Can we? Can we at least get closer? Can we try?
I am interested in pursuing joint projects with like-minded photographers around the world. Contact me if you might be interested. I have lots of ideas…
